clover4: Online RP

To those that where interested, now the big question, what sort of forum do you want to use?

Yahoo Clubs/Groups is what I used in past, but the advertisement are rather painful on the eyes. Would anyone object to livejournal? It has no annoying ads, and allows for long posts (with images).

If anyone has any suggestions, or knows of any good sites to host RPs (not for chatting purposes, this is a post by play only) please let me know.

The way I'd run it:

No dice, just friendly moderation of actions and interraction. It works rather well, when the players are mature and not trying to be all godly. The storyteller is the godly bit, and might throw an oddity in here or there, but nothing so outrageous a character wouldn't be able to handle it.

Above all, I believe in fun in a game. A good game, but an enjoyable one. If it ever becomes a burden to RP, a chore, then it's not worth doing.

If LJ's okay with people, I can see about setting up a community. Oh, and if anyone wants to catch me online, my screenname is:

I own all of the Orpheus books, so if anyone wants to make a character, and is a tad curious about what's beyond the first hardcover, I'd be happy to help.

There are a few things that I changed/treat differently from the main book, and it seems to work a lot better, such as making manifestation an act of will, instead of blowing vitality to do it. Lil things like that.

I'm happy with where-ever ... might I suggest somewhere like rpol.com It's a decent site setup, with forums dedicated to games. I use it as a player there, and it looks pretty decent :)

As for a starting character, would it be possible to play a Marrow?

I would like to suggest rpol.com as well.

And now I will go and have a look at my books to see what I can see, character-wise.

Don't you fellows mean "rpol.net" instead?

Anyway, I would vote for the "forum" format, be it on RPOL or the CJB site, but I do not object to a livejournal community. It is just a matter of familiarity, but I can adapt. ;)

I have participated on those more "liberal" playing styles and I can testify that they can be quite successful when all the players are mature and on the same line. Count me in!

I have access to all the books and, even though I've read the lot I can promise to avoid OOC knowledge. Hell, getting screwed up is half the fun of playing RPGs! (long live CoC!)

So, I guess we have the full shade zone available? (except for the "Orphan-Grinders", of course)
