clover4: rpol.net Orpheus Game

Okay, the account is created! It's under:

I actually snagged Orpheus as the name, so no confusion as to what's what. The GM's name is: Josephine Wolff. My account name on rpol.net is: Abydos641

I'll see about flipping through my books and setting up some preliminary posts tonight/tomorrow. In the meantime, everyone go through your books and pick out what you'd like to play. All spirits are welcome except Organ Grinders, cause they require a bit more involvement in their creation. However, if you would like to play a grinder drop me a line, and if you have a good backstory and strong case for it, then hell, all's a go.

I'm really looking for interesting characters. They don't have to be 100 percent unusual never before seen, but just something you'd really enjoy playing. That alone is enough.

You can design knowing full well that Orpheus exists, and working for them (either many years, recently recruited, etc.) or you can create a character that knows nothing of Orpheus, and is scared as hell cause weird shit keeps happening. All ages are okay (I happen to like diversity, so a 60+ character or an 8 year old is fine by me) and use the stains, dementations, and so forth to full effect.

We are only as bright as the shadow we cast.

It might take a week to get this game off the ground, so take the time to really think about your character. I want this to be fun, involved, and terrifying.

evilasdoorknobs: Okay, here comes the concept:

Brian is a 12 years old child (13, if his post-life time is to be accounted for), still attached to the broken remains of his family and with no one else to turn to but the Orpheus Group which brought him up from a blip haunting the site of a frustrated bank heist to a sentient spirit.

The Orpheus Group has adopted Brian hesitantly, as his immature mind is certainly not what they desire for an operative, but they couldn't just leave the ghost to wander around and maybe bump into something worse. He was taken under the wing of a more experienced projector (left to the Storyteller's discretion, may even be another player), who has taken the place of a parental figure for Brian, though the spirit has not severed ties to his surviving family, watching over them when he has the chance. It still hasn't crossed his mind that OG could be paying his family for what he does.

He has been around for a year in the corporation, and has become accustomed to his ephemeral state surprisingly well, a tribute to the ease of adaptation presented by children. His need for authority figures and undeveloped moral judgement means he hardly questions the legality of his orders, while his natural imagination provides insights ignored by his elders. Factors counter-balanced by his inherent immaturity, brashness and a desire to expose the supernatural to the world so that he can appear again to his family (he has been lectured enough on the later to avoid doing that unless he really thinks he can get away with it).

I am thinking a Phantasm with a Dreamer nature, but I am willing to change to better accomodate other members of the crucible.

Wow, that was long, sorry. ;)

By the way, I registered as Zearoth_K at RPOL.net.
